Gov. Pritzker has signed legislation to re-enforce the value of the Illinois High School Diploma. Previously called high school equivalency certificates, students who pass all parts of the GED program, as of January 1, 2023, will now be granted an Illinois High School Diploma. Furthermore, to encourage Illinoisans to complete their secondary degrees, Illinois is offering a $20 discount per test, bringing the total cost for the GED to $40 for in-person tests, and $56 for online tests. Test takers should enter ILSAVE20 at checkout. For more information, contact mlmann@roe39.org.
