Ed-RisingIL2025

Prepare your middle and/or high school students to be inspired to join the educator pipeline in Illinois after they attend the EdRising IL Conference on March 6th at IL State University! Visit https://cvent.me/rgVD5Z to register by 2/17.

How is this conference different from others? Read to find out just some of the reasons why districts should send a group of middle and/or high school students to this conference:

1.     Our unique Future Educator Resource Fair! Colleges and educational organizations from across IL will be present at our Future Educator Resource Fair to talk with students specifically about their educator preparation programs, resources, and scholarships. Some of the major universities that are registered to attend in addition to ISU include University of Illinois, Bradley University, Southern IL University Carbondale, University of IL Chicago, Eastern IL University, DePaul, and the list goes on! Important education organizations that will be there include the IL State Board of Education, IL Student Assistance Commission, Golden Apple, IL Math and Science Academy, and MORE! The fact that they are all in one location at ISU during our conference is an incredible benefit to the future educators in attendance! Checkout the full list of vendors on the event website: https://cvent.me/rgVD5Z

2.     The EdRising IL Conference is student-led! Our amazing state officers facilitate the only statewide CTSO future educator conference. Our 4 state officers are high school students from Woodstock, Normal, and Cobden. They are instrumental in planning the event including selecting the breakout session offerings.

3.     Skills-attainment competitions! High school students are registered to compete in 4 categories designed to help them practice and refine teaching skills that they will utilize in their profession. The 4 competitions are: Researching Learning Challenges, Job Interview, Children’s Literature, K-3, and Educators Rising Moment. 2 of the competitions are offered in both English and Spanish!

4.     The keynote speaker is Dr. Rachael Mahmood, our 2024 Illinois Teacher of the year! She’s an incredible 5th grade teacher in Indian Prairie CUSD 204.

5.     Students can network with students and educational leaders from across the state!

6.     New event format! Have you attended this conference previously? Checkout the event website to see how it’s changed each year based on input from teachers and students!
